Cryptocurrency markets experienced an extended recovery on Tuesday, with Bitcoin (BTCUSD) surpassing the $66,000 level. This upward movement was supported by renewed risk appetite, increased institutional demand, and significant inflows into exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Risk sentiment improved following reports that the United States and Iran are exploring a potential ceasefire through regional mediators, although no formal agreement has yet been reached. Despite this, the news triggered immediate positive reactions across global financial markets, with cryptocurrencies and precious metals advancing, while oil prices retreated from recent highs. This development reflects a temporary easing of geopolitical tensions that had adversely impacted markets over the past ten days.

US-Iran Ceasefire Talks Bolster Market Optimism

A major catalyst behind Bitcoin’s recent gains is the emerging optimism surrounding diplomatic negotiations between Iran and the United States. Both nations are reportedly considering a temporary ceasefire agreement aimed at reducing tensions near the Strait of Hormuz. Although market participants remain cautious about the outcome, ongoing diplomatic efforts have helped alleviate short-term geopolitical risks.

The increasing capital inflow into US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs represents another significant factor contributing to the positive market momentum. For the second consecutive week, these ETFs experienced net inflows of approximately $273 million as of Monday, July 20. Additionally, investors may be viewing Bitcoin as a potential hedge in response to broader macroeconomic concerns, including inflationary pressures.

Looking ahead, traders and investors should closely monitor official communications from US and Iranian representatives. Confirmation of a credible ceasefire could further support risk assets such as Bitcoin, while a breakdown in negotiations might prompt a market reversal.

Bitcoin (BTCUSD) Short-term Technical Outlook

From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin’s short-term outlook is improving, with momentum indicators suggesting further recovery potential. On the daily chart, the price is attempting to stabilize above the 20-day Simple Moving Average (SMA), which is currently serving as immediate support. In the event of a pullback, support levels are likely near $63,800–$63,400 and $63,000. Conversely, sustained strength above $66,000 would reinforce bullish control, with resistance anticipated at $67,000 and $67,500.
